Are you eligible
Every year we do free decorating for people who can't do the work themselves because they . . .
- have a disability, or are elderly (65 years or over).
- have no-one else who can do it for them.
If you have rent arrears
You will not be eligible for this service if you have rent arrears of more than £500. If the rent arrears are below £500 then you must have maintained satisfactory payments for a minimum period of three months.
How we prioritise decorating requests
The money may be limited, so we can't always immediately help everyone who qualifies - but if this happens you will go onto a waiting list. We will visit and carry out an assessment within five working days of your application and you will be notified in writing within ten working days.
- 1st priority – 70+ years of age
- 2nd priority – 65+ years of age with a disability (in receipt of some form of disability benefit)
- 3rd priority – 65+ years of age
You can have one room decorated and can use this service once every five years.
