How you can listen to our website
If you have any problems reading this website, you can use the Browsealoud service. It’s free. It’s simple to use. And it only takes a couple of minutes to set up.
How does Browsealoud work?
Once you’ve downloaded the Browsealoud software to your computer, you’ll be able to listen to this site. Browsealoud will highlight screen text as it is reading the words aloud. It will even read PDFs and online forms. If there are words you don’t understand, you can highlight them and look up their definition in the Browsealoud dictionary. You can also set it to save the spoken text as an MP3 file.
Install Browsealoud
Just click on the link above and follow the steps. You’ll be asked if you need the software for a Mac or PC. You’ll then be asked if the computer is your own or part of a system, e.g. at work or in a library. If you are using a work or public PC, this will be protected by a ‘corporate firewall, and you’ll need to ask for support from staff or your I.T. department. If you are using your own computer, just click the ‘yes’ button and the Browsealoud software will download. And that’s it. You’ll be able to use the service every time you visit the site.
