We put a lot of effort into listening to what young people in our communities have to say, and making sure there are more opportunities for you.
Our Youth Network is a group of 12-25 year olds who meet regularly and get involved in a range of activities. Recent things the network has been involved in include Passion4Fashion, a fashion project which ended with a glamorous catwalk show, and Future Footprints, a project that saw young people produce a DVD about climate change.
Young residents and City South staff also exchange views and ideas to help make sure there’s more going on in our communities for young people. If you are interested in joining our Youth Network contact Michelle Wright at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 0161 227 1263
Princes Trust Team Programme
City South is working in partnership with The Prince’s Trust to run their Team Programme from one of our properties. The 12-week action-packed programme programme is for residents aged 16-25 who are unemployed. It's free and is great if you feel short of confidence or qualifications are holding youback.
You will take on community projects, have an action-packed residential week, gain work experience, improve your chances of moving into a job, and much more. Click here for more information.
Employment, training & volunteering
City South can offer a range of advice and support to help young local people find jobs or improve their skills to help you move into work. If you're unemployed or looking for work, want to boost your skills to help you find employment, or are simply looking for advice about how to make the next step, contact City South and find out how we can help you.
If you’re looking to get out into the world of work and start earning a living an apprenticeship could be right up your street. You’ll learn on the job and work towards a qualification, whilst earning a decent wage and gaining experience. We’ve recently taken on apprenticeships in business administration, customer services and a range of trades. Click here for more information.
